Startup and Founder Events in the Time of Covid-19

Posted by Philip Camilleri on April 13, 2020. Last updated 4 years ago.

In the space of just a few weeks, the world seems to have been flipped on its head. Major events like SXSW, the 2020 Summer Olympics, Wimbledon, etc have been canceled or postponed. And all of those regular startup, entrepreneur and founder events have suddenly been moved online.

As a startup founder, I have often heard people say that startup events tend to be a distraction from the "real work" of building a business. However, I have also found that some events can be extremely productive — whether for motivation, inspiration or simply networking with other folks. Of course, online events have a completely different energy, and connecting with other attendees is far from "natural" or easy. However, given the times we are living in, and the shelter-in-place or lockdowns in many cities, we are all trying to make do with what we can.

With that in mind, we are trying to collate as many relevant and useful events as possible in our events section.

We'd also like to ask for your help:

  1. if you are hosting any startup or entrepreneurship-related events, please send them over (events@founderslist.com) or https://founderslist.com/contact and we'll add to the listings;
  2. if you have any events (or event-organizers) to recommend, please share them with us and we'll add to the list
  3. Finally, if you have any ideas for events, let us know and we'll see if we can put something together or work with other organizations to get these events done.
  4. And of course, if you're looking for any events to attend, sign up to FoundersList (https://founderslist.com/login) and check out the Event listings.

Thank you, and stay safe!
